The closing date on the new house will be Friday the 12th. We'll be moving in the following Saturday morning. Needless to say, we're getting pretty excited about it. Our drywall/paint walkthrough is next Tuesday. :-)

Alison had her first prenatal office visit last week, and we were able to hear the baby's heartbeat! I captured it with my iPhone, and converted it to an MP3.

After not finding a buyer for our old house, we've decided to take up the builder on his offer to buy it from us. It's not as much as we would get from a regular sale, but we don't have to deal with any closing costs or realtor's fees. We have a contract with the builder now, so they're going to finish up the new house (they had been holding off waiting on us to get a contract.) They're going to try and finish by Friday, September 5th. If they're done, we'll close that day. If not, we'll close the following Friday. It's 8-15 days away, so we should probably start packing some things up this weekend. We have been waiting to get into our new house, and that day is finally coming!

Last fiscal year at work, I had a week of leftover vacation. I'm using it this week. Alison has to work, so I'm not really going anywhere. I think I might go see a movie or two... If I get really bored, I suppose I could help out by packing (or donating) the things we never use. I've got several old video game systems... I might sell them on eBay or maybe just throw them away...

We sold our existing couch and chair on Craigslist, and put the money towards new couches. Since our new living room is large and square, we spent $50 extra and got two couches instead of one couch and a loveseat. The actual color is mint green...
